Pulsed Eddy Current Testing

Overview

Eddy Current Testing is the fastest way to assess the condition of non-ferrous tubing in chillers, condensers, feed water heaters and evaporators.

With data collection speeds twice that of any other inspection method, work is performed swiftly and efficiently. Our clients are provided with immediate results or the data is stored and reviewed at a remote location. Results are accurate and require little or no follow-up scrutiny.

Different from Pulsed Eddy Current Surveys, Eddy Current Testing is a non-destructive testing (NDT) method that uses a coil with alternating current to generate an alternating magnetic field and induce eddy currents in conductive materials1,2,3,4,5.

It can be used for flaw detection, material identification, thickness measurements, and heat treatment condition1,2. It is a no contact method that requires an electronic probe to be placed close to the test surface or run through the test tubes.
