We are Hiring: Field Technician

 

Inspectahire is an equal opportunities employer seeking a full-time, permanent Field Technician to join our established team. This role involves providing on-site technical support to our clients, with the position based at our Head Office in Portlethen, Aberdeen. 

The role: 

 

Key responsibilities  

  • Conducting NDT Surveys onshore, and offshore on a national or international basis as required. 
  • Assisting Workshop Supervisor to prepare equipment for jobs.
  • Providing support for Team Leaders and more senior technicians/engineers on site and within the office/workshop environment .
  • Preparation of reports/video footage for clients. 
  • Undergoing training as required by the employer. 
  • Compliance with company policies with particular emphasis on QHSE. 
  • Carrying out onsite appraisals of new employees to aid in monitoring the effectiveness of training given and to recommend possible training opportunities. 
  • Other duties are required by the employer. 

 

Essential Skills  

  • Competent Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook Packages.  
  • Good communication skills to enhance working with colleagues and clients.  
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. 
  • To be able to work to deadlines under own initiative or in teamwork endeavour. 
  • U.K. Driving License and willingness to travel to various job sites. 
  • Physical fitness to perform inspections in challenging environments. 
  • Effective time management skills to meet project deadlines consistently. 
  • Collaborative mindset to seamlessly integrate into the inspection team. 
  • Acceptance of training on company processes and procedures. 

 

Desired Skills and Qualifications 

  • Proficiency in conducting CCTV inspections for various structures such as pipelines. 
  • Previous Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) experience.
  • BOSIET. 
  • CAA Pilot. 
  • WAH Experience. 
  • Confined Space Experience. 
  • Proficiency in EMUUA Techniques. 
  • Proficiency in Ultrasonic Testing (UT) techniques. 
  • CSCS Card Holder. 
  • Certification in NDT methods (ASNT Level II or III in Visual Testing (VT)). 
  • A degree or diploma in HND in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering, technical studies, or a related field is preferred. 

Hours 

When working from the company office, your regular working hours are Monday to Friday, from 8:27 AM to 5:00 PM. However, your time will be spilt between the office and on client sites, and there will be times when you are required to work outside of these standard hours. 

Salary 

Salary is determined based on relevant experience and qualifications. All applicants are requested to indicate their expected salary range.
